EWB General Chapter Meeting - March

Come join the Puget Sound Chapter of Engineers Without Borders in its monthly meetings for members and interested  folks. 
 
The meeting is held at Pyramid Alehouse across from Safeco Field. Chapter meetings are a great way for new members to network with their fellow engineers and planners;  learn about the Chapter's three international  projects and find opportunities to get involved. 

The format of the meeting is as follows

6:30 pm - Food/Drinks and networking

7:00 pm - Introductions

7:10 pm - EWB Overview

7:20 pm - Presentation - Water 1st International

8:00 pm - End of Chapter Meeting

                                                 

Our speaker this month will be Steve Deem from Water 1st International http://water1st.org/

Steve is a civil engineer with over 25 years experience in water and sanitation. His experience encompasses a myriad of settings from the Kurdish refugee camps in Northern Iraq, to post-war rehabilitation in Bosnia Herzegovina, to gravity flow water systems in rural Nepal with the Peace Corp, to research efforts on UV Disinfection in the US and Canada with the Water Research Foundation. 

He will be presenting on Water 1st' extensive work in developing water sources in rural communities, evaluating sustainability of water and sanitation projects, and training communities to operate water projjects constructed.
